VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Looking for a fun and easy way to make a meaningful difference? Come join us at the BEAMING Barn – we would love to have you join the BEAMING family!

We always need volunteers! We are currently looking for new volunteers to help us with side walking, horse handling, lesson prep and groundskeeping; please see descriptions below. To sign up to volunteer, please email Denise, our Volunteer Coordinator, at [email protected], and she will set you up with a one-to-one or group volunteer orientation. Volunteers must be 14 years old; no experience necessary, we will provide all training.

Side Walkers for Horseback Riding Programs

Assist program participants with maintaining balance and control and interpreting directions given by the Riding Instructor during lessons.

Horse Handlers for Horseback Riding Programs

Horse handlers are responsible for the horse’s behavior while a participant rides. Horse handling requires experience, and we offer training in 5 different levels of horse handling. Testing is required for certification at each level.

Lesson Prep Assistants for Horseback Riding Programs

We need individuals to assist with lesson preparation by grooming and saddling our horses.

Fundraising & Events Volunteers

We need help with fundraising activities and help at special events throughout the year including Day at the Derby in the spring, Night at the Races in the fall, BOOfest and Santa at the Barn.

Counselors for Summer Teen Equine Camps

We need volunteers to help as counselors at our summer Hold Your Horses Teen Camps! These camps run from 9am-2pm, Monday-Thursday. There are two 4-day sessions each summer. Counselors are responsible for taking a small group of 3-6 teens each day through the educational and horse-related sessions. This is an ideal volunteer opportunity for teachers, counselors and other educators. Join us for an uplifting, exciting summer camp experience working with teens!

Groundskeeping and Maintenance for the BEAMING Barn

We need volunteers to help with lawn care, helping to maintain our bird and butterfly gardens and horse paddocks, general maintenance, and other work in and around the barn.
